*I Remember Nothing

bc I remember nothing

Nora Ephron remembers a lot.  She has taken on divorce, love, older necks and the pain of losing people close to her during her long and successful career.  Her brain functions fine – it’s just stuffed full of life, a life well-lived.

“I Remember Nothing,” is a fun book for book clubs. It gives book clubs a break from all the heavy issues of today, and lets its members laugh out loud.  Ephron will also sprinkle a little reality into her prose, a touch of heartache, so you know it’s real.

I’m a freelance writer, so I loved the chapter “Journalism: A Love Story.”  The reader gets insight into Ephron’s origins in writing and also into the events that help shape her personally and professionally.

Ephron enjoys life and she shows her readers how to find humor in the oddities and the mundane, and in the reality of growing older.  She still enjoys getting up every day and looking for the adventure in life.  Living life as an amazing adventure will pull you through those times that are unbearable, garnering up your rejuvenating powers with a positive mind.

We all forget things in the course of the day, but as you grow older it does seem to manifest itself  in so many ways.  Cooking your favorite recipe – did I put in the salt?  You forget these little details all day long.  You didn’t forget these details when you were younger – did I – I can’t remember.

Definitely read the book for book club and do it on a month when you need a little pick-me-up.  It’s a fast read and its fun.
