Neil Gaiman, a New York Times bestselling author, penned this adult fairy tale a few years ago. It was my pick this month for our book club.

The lyrical writing has a fast tension that keeps you turning page after page. The story, however, wasn’t a good pick for book club. We like to try different types of genres, but this gave us nothing to talk about and most didn’t like it.

Read it if you like the genre, but I don’t recommend it for book club.
